Izakaya

I love eating Izakaya style food.  The atmosphere is very inviting, it makes me feel like I’m a part of Japan.  I love Japanese food it’s so delicous.  When I think about some of the other cultural foods available to me, I think once in awhile is ok but everyday is to much for me to handle.  While I really love Korean, Chinese, French cuisine I think that they season food to heavily and couldn’t eat it everyday.  Where as Japanese only season to bring out the essence of the dish.  I think that in most cultures the sauce is what makes the dish.  Richness of this style makes it very difficult for me to eat this style everyday even though I love  them both.  Sorry let me get back to my meal, well we had an excellent waitress who tried to educate me on the finer details of sake drinking.  She brought over a shot glass with a box that catches the overflow.  When she did this I thought she made a mistake and spilled on accident.  I didn’t know that this is how sake is really supposed to be poured how interesting I thought.  This is the kind of experience I really like it’s like I’m visiting Japan but in Hawaii.  Oh yes by the way the restaurants name was Gaku.  I had so many different dishes most of which I cannot pronounce yet so I’m not going to list.  We had Ootoro man I love that fish but it’s flavors are so oily that I think to much of this would make me sick.  Maguro on the other hand I can eat for days.  I will have to make a trip to Japan to compare.  I have no doubt that I will love every experience I encounter there.
