While Fukudome is grabbing the hearts of millions of fans right now, we still cannot forget the great Ichiro Suzuki. He is probably one of the reasons Fukudome is even playing in America right now. He has opened the door for many Japanese players to play in America because of his talent and performance. He has the leauge record for hits in one season, has been an All Star multiple times, and simply plays the game of baseball the way it should be played. I love the way he runs the bases, the way he flies in the outfield, and the way he guns people out with his cannon of an arm. Ichiro always plays his hardest, and his tireless training pays off on the field. Ichiro is such a unique player to Major Leauge Baseball and no one will be able to replace him. He has proven that a smaller player can learn how to make use of their bodies and compete with bigger players. Ichiro has inspired me that anyone who works hard can play a high level of baseball.
