Statue of Liberty

There is a liquor that is called Sambuca, it is from Italy and is quite strong. Usually it is served in a snifter with 3 coffee beans, which represent the Father, Son and Holy ghost. However, there is another way to drink it and that is in the form of a quick shot with your fingers on fire in the Statue of Liberty pose, which I will explain. The other day I had a table of 6 Japanese guys, they drank beer, then wine and after dinner one man ordered a Sambuca , which I brought in the style described above. The drink is strong and a few other men were curious about it, so they also order one. I came back to the table with two more and as the men began to drink the Sambuca their faces began turning red, one guy spit is out and the other said his throat was on fire. I explained the drinks alcohol level is so high that it can be lit on fire, they didn’t believe me at first. I explained that if you dip you fingers in the Sambuca and light them they will catch on fire, then hold them up proudly in the air like a torch that the Staue of Liberty holds, quickly drink the Sambuca and then put the fire out by placing your fingers in your mouth, but be careful you might burn yourself. They all looked around at each other in disbelief, finally one man grabbed a plate and poured a little Sambuca onto the plate, he then turned and asked for a lighter. They all shouted in amazement as the Sambuca lit up into a beautiful blue flame at the table. I think when they go back to Japan they will have a new story to tell their buddies.
