備えあれば憂いなし


そなえあればうれいなし


常日頃から十分な準備をしていると
突然、予期せぬことが起こっても心配することはないという意味。

つねひごろからじゅうぶんなじゅんびをしていると
とつぜん、よきせぬことがおこってもしんぱいすることはないといういみ。

    In English a similiar proverb might be”It’s better to be safe than sorry” This means that if you play it safe you don’t have to worry about something going wrong. Basically be careful and you will be okay.

    This is also a half an dhalf proverb. I say this because preparing for the unexpected becomes an oxymoron. You cannot prepare for something you don’t know, because if you know what to prepare for, then you obviously know something about what you previously thought you did not know about. For example, say you have a football game, and you whole week is dedicated to gameplanning against a team. YOu decide that the team you are facing runs certain kinds of plays, so you practice against those plays. And when game day comes, the other team is totally different from what you thought, and you lose. So the best thing would be is to try and be as flexible as possible, because there wil always be change.
