猿は木登りが上手な動物ですが、その猿でも木から落ちることがある。
どんな達人でも失敗することがある。
さるはきのぼりがじょうずなどうぶつですが、そのさるでもきからおちることがある。
どんなたつじんでもしっぱいすることがある。
“Saru mo ki kara ochiru” means, “Even monkeys fall from trees.” It refers to the fact that we all make mistakes, even the best of us. Even monkeys, who are expert tree-climbers, sometimes fall out of trees.

This is definitely true for software developers. I am not sure what it is like in other industries, but software engineers tend to have inflated egos that get bruised easily. For some reason it seems that because we are working with computers we too are supposed to be perfect like robots. This just isn’t true. Any software engineer that presents him/herself as flawless should not be trusted.

This really applies to sports. Im football, there is not reciever who can truly say he’s never dropped a pass. Even in baseball, even the best pitchers lose once in a while. It is the fact that they can come back and win after they lose that makes them so great. “Even the best baseball players lose.”
