There were a long line of kamehamehas who ruled the hawaiianislands. The first kamehameha conquored all of the hawaiian islands. Then during the 1880s king kalakauwa ruled the islands as its monarch. He ruled in the iolani palace until the 19th century. Then the missionaries took the land from the hawaiians, claiming they were doing good for the land. Now the hawaiian culture has died out due to the missionaries.
