After the cramped conditions of the covid lockdown it was such a relief to get away even for a brief overnight to the Blue Mountains. It was wonderful to see the town thriving as the locals were trying to push on as usual doing business. It was very different to the situation in Sydney where the streets were very empty and by nightfall most people were indoors. The blue mountains is a wonderful short getaway. As winter approaches the weather is crisp in the day and rather cold at night. The fireplace where we stayed was lit and it is such a homely, cozy and lovely accommodation.  I always feel reliably refreshed and rejuvenated after a brief visit and I look forward to going again soon.

　新型コロナウイルスによるロックダウンと言う息苦しい状況の中、私は、ブルー・マウンテンズ国立公園に行き、一泊してきました。一泊だけでしたが、とても気持ちが安らぎました。地元の人たちは、いつものようにビジネスを続けようと頑張っていました。そんな活気ある町を見るのは素敵なことです。それに引きかえ、シドニーは、道路はガラガラで、夕暮れには、ほとんどの人が家の中に引きこもっています。ブルー・マウンテンズ国立公園は、短期休暇に最適の場所です。冬が近づくにつれ、日中はさわやかですが、夜はかなり寒くなります。私たちが泊まった部屋は、暖炉のある家庭的で居心地の良いところでした。私は、ここに来た後は、いつも気分がスッキリして、元気を取り戻すことができます。そして、またすぐに行きたいと思ってしまいます。
