Just a few days ago I went to Ala Moana Shopping Center to look for some shoes for my work and even though I knew a lot of construction had been done and that it had changed since I had last been there I was so shocked to see how different it was. It had only been about 4 or 5 months since my last visit there and for the first time I actually got lost and had to look at a map of the floor that I was on to see where I was at. I didn’t recognize any of the stores. Along with all of the new stores there has also been a lot of improvements to the layout of the mall. Instead of just lots of stores next to each other, there seems to have been a lot of effort into making it a very beautiful location.

　ほんの数日前、私は仕事用の靴を探すためにアラモアナ ショッピング センターに行きました。ショッピング センターで、いろいろな工事が行われたことは知っていました。しかし、あまりの変わりようにビックリしました。最後に行ったのは、わずか４か月か５か月前なのに、私は、初めて道に迷いました。私はどこにいるのか分からなくなり、案内掲示板を見て確かめなくてはなりませんでした。どの店も知らない店ばかりでした。新しい店だけではなく、ショッピングセンターのレイアウトにも多くの改善がありました。単に店が軒を連ねると言うだけでなく、全体としての景観を良くするために大変な努力が払われたように思いました。
