Collaborative Haiku Poem – 夏時間

summer times
glancing snow outdoors
advance the clock

(Yoko version)
夏時間雪を横目に針進め
なつじかん ゆき を よこめに はりすすめ

are you ready?
in snowy countries
new time zones begin

(Michiko version)
雪の国時差の準備は夏時間
ゆきのくに じさのじゅんびは なつじかん

On March 10, daylight saving time begins. However, yards are covered with snow and long icicles are hanging from roofs. It is hesitating to say “Summer will be here soon.”

3月10日にサマータイムが始まります。時計を一時間すすめますが、屋外に目をやると、庭は一面の雪、屋根からは長いつららが下がり、サマータイムに変えるのが少々はばかられます。
