Haiku Poem – 裏庭の鹿

living river runs
brown deer green leaves
past home flows

(Ben version)
しか の むれ まどごし に みる いきる かわ

(Michiko version)
しか あそぶ おがわ の ほとり にわ の まど

There are many deer that pass through the woods behind my house. Sometimes there are male deer with antlers. At other times, there are female deer with young fawns. The deer never move alone. In fact, they always travel in small groups. I like to watch them through the window.
