Collaborative Haiku Poem – 蝉時雨

cicada noise
cascades into the night
restless feeling

蝉時雨夜まで続く気忙しさ
せみしぐれ　よるまで つづく　きぜわしさ

cicada voice
rends the silence of night
grand chorus

cicadas voice
tear up the stillness

蝉の声静けさを裂く大合唱
せみのこえ　しずけさをさく　だいがっしょう

In Japan, the word “semishigure”, cascade of cicada noise, calls to mind an early afternoon of summer or camping school for kids. However, cicadas in this area make noise not only during the day but also at night. In fact, as other daytime noises die down, cicada noise stands out.

　「蝉時雨」と聞けば、夏の昼下がりや子供達の林間学校を思い浮かべます。ところがこの辺りでは蝉は昼間はもちろんのこと夜遅くまで鳴いています。それどころか、昼間の喧騒がないだけにかえってうるささが際立ちます。
