Haiku Poem – 海風の歌

burning orange sky
night winds wash the deck
worries melt away

(Jim version)
もえる そら ゆうかぜ わらう おどる ふね

(Michiko version)
さざなみ に こころ を うつす ゆう の ふね

For me, when working on the sunset cruise boat tour there is a feeling that is very similar to when taking a walk on the beach during sunset. Even if there is no sunset it still is a very nice feeling walking along the beach with the nice gentle breeze and the sound of the ocean. On the boat it is the same kind of feeling. There is a nice gentle breeze and at times there can be a stronger wind since the boat is off shore and more susceptible to the winds. When I feel the breeze it is as if the ocean is talking to me. It is such a nice feeling looking out over the ocean while the boat is going very slow. All of the day’s problems melt away and if there is a nice sunset then that makes it even better.
