Collaborative Haiku Poem – 鳥の水浴び

bathing birds
sparkling particles of light
early summer garden

(Yoko version)
水浴びや羽ばたき響く初夏の庭
みずあびや はばたき ひびく しょか の にわ

(Michiko version)
水遊び羽音も光る初夏の庭
みずあそび はおと も ひかる しょか の にわ

When the temperature begins to climb, the saucer filled with water is placed out in the garden for birds to bathe in. Soon afterwards, the sound of wings splashing in the water is heard. Summer begins.

 気温が上昇し始めると、鉢の受け皿に水を満たして庭先に出しておきます。すると、まもなくロビンやカーデイナルが、パタパタと羽音を立てて、水浴びをしている光景を楽しめます。ネブラスカの夏の始まりです。
