Gradually it is getting colder.
It is rapidly becoming colder.

From the late afternoon on I need to wear a down coat.

If it is cold in the morning, even if I get up, it is hard to get out of the futon.
When it is cold in the morning, even if I am awake, I cannot get out from under the covers.

Unintentionally, I fall asleep again.
This makes it easy to fall back asleep.

Have to be careful not to oversleep.
So, I have to be careful not to oversleep!

    Hi, Ben-san

I feel that “Rapidly” is perhaps the more appropriate English word for どんどん in the first sentence. Japanese words for “gradually” are 次第に(しだいに)and 少しづつ(すこしづつ).

目が覚める means literally Eyes are open, thus, 目覚めてもcan be translated “even if my eyes are open, or even if I am awake.”

Thank you for letting me say my opinion. Yoko
